- API Keys: If you choose to configure an Alpha Vantage API key, it is stored locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults. We do not transmit or access your API keys.
- Stock Preferences: Your favorite stocks and app settings are stored locally on your device.
- No Analytics: ZephTicker does not collect any analytics, telemetry, or usage data.
- No Personal Information: We do not collect any personally identifiable information.
Third-Party Data Sources
ZephTicker retrieves stock market data from the following third-party services:
Yahoo Finance
- Purpose: Real-time and historical stock price data
- Data Sent: Stock symbols you search for or add to favorites

Alpha Vantage (Optional)
- Purpose: Fundamental stock data (P/E ratios, market cap, etc.)
- Data Sent: Stock symbols and your API key (if configured)
- Privacy Policy: https://www.alphavantage.co/privacy/
- Note: Alpha Vantage integration is optional and requires you to provide your own API key
- Local Storage Only: All your preferences, favorites, and settings are stored locally on your device
- No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud service
- No Sharing: We do not share your information with any third parties beyond the necessary API calls to fetch stock data
Data Security
- Local Storage: All data is stored locally on your macOS device
- macOS Sandbox: The app runs in Apple’s App Sandbox for enhanced security
- No Server Storage: We do not operate any servers or databases that store your information
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Review all locally stored data through macOS Finder or system preferences
- Delete: Remove all app data by deleting the application
- Control: Configure or remove API keys at any time through the Settings menu
